President Mubarak steps down from power

The unrelenting revolutionary zeal of the brave Egyptian people finally succeeded in bringing down Hosni Mubarak from power. The tyrant who ruled Egypt with an iron fist for 30 years has been forced to leave power after 18 days of popular uprising.

Violent clashes on the streets of Cairo
Jubilant scenes erupted in Liberation Square in Cairo and all across Egypt when news of Mubarak handing over power to armed forces was announced on state television by Vice President Omar Suleiman.

The Supreme Council of the armed forces will rule the country until free and fair elections are held by the end of this year.
