Events in Egypt will transform Middle East

In a ceremony to support Egypt’s anti-government demonstrators and to protest the peace established between Egypt and Israel, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah said the unrest in Egypt will transform the Middle East by overthrowing a dictatorial regime that maintains peace with the Zionists.

Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah
“You are fighting the battle of Arab dignity, the dignity of the Arab human being that was humiliated by some of its leaders in the past decades,” said Sheikh Nasrallah in a televised speech.

“We look forward to the day that you bring back to Egypt its leading and historic position in the life of our nation and the region,” Nasrallah said referring to the days when Egypt waged wars against the Zionist state of Israel.

Sheikh Nasrallah believes the new leadership that emerges from the current turmoil in Egypt will move away from Israel.

Since the organisation’s founding in 1982, Hezbollah has had poor relations with President Hosni Mubarak’s government and things deteriorated further in 2009 when Egyptian security officials accused Hezbollah of trying to destabilise Egypt.
