Iran arrests a network of Israeli spies

Iran has arrested a network of spies who were behind the assassination of an Iranian nuclear scientist. The group is linked to Israel's notorious Mossad intelligence service.

A footage of a young man identified as Majid Jamalifash which was on aired on last Monday by Iranian state TV said he was the "main element" behind the murder of Masoud Ali-Mohammadi, the Tehran University scientist.

To organise the assassination plot, Israel has used residents of neighbouring, European and non-European countries.

The nuclear scientist was killed on 12 January 2010 in the Iranian capital Tehran, with the help of a remote-controlled bomb. Another Iranian nuclear scientist was also killed on 29 November 2010 by a car bomb in Tehran.

Jamalifash has confessed that Israeli officers have given him training in a military base near Tel Aviv. He was given training to collect information from specific places, sticking a bomb under a car, counter-surveillance techniques and detonating bombs.

Israeli Mossad is responsible for intelligence gatherings, conducting espionage overseas, covert operations which include targeted killings, bringing Jews from countries where migration to Israel is forbidden, and paramilitary activities beyond Israel’s borders.

On January 2010, Mossad agents carrying fake or fraudulently obtained Western passports killed Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, a senior Hamas military commander in a hotel room in Dubai.
