Gaddafi’s days in power almost over

Muammar Gaddafi, the Libyan dictator’s decision to unleash foreign mercenaries to quell the uprising by the brave Libyan people indicates that he does not have enough support among his military. The little support that he enjoys from his Libyan paramilitary thugs seems to be waning fast.

Waves of defections by Gaddafi’s close aides and resignations of Libyan diplomats around the world are clear signs that he will fall. Libyan envoys to France, India, the United States and UK and UNESCO have announced their resignation.

The arrogant Libyan dictator remains isolated as international condemnations pour in against his regime. The Arab League has suspended Libyan membership of the organization for the time being and called on Gaddafi to end the brutal murders of the Libyan people.

Two days ago, Gaddafi addressed the nation from the ruins of his residential compound bombed by US fighter planes in 1986. In his rambling speech, the embattled ‘Leader’ of the Libyan nation continued to yell and threaten the protesters with death while repeatedly calling them ‘rats’ or ‘cockroaches.’

It is estimated that more than 1000 people have died so far from the bloodbath that is going on in Libya and refugees coming across the border into Egypt have been telling harrowing tales of murder.
